Join us to look for and photograph flora and fauna, share your findings on iNaturalist, and have your findings verified by experts.
YACTAC are on the lookout for landholders along Colombo Creek to be part of a baseline assessment. This program will focus on carp removal, and the distribution and health of trout cod and eel-tailed catfish populations in Colombo Creek.

Join us these school holidays for a hands-on workshop where kids aged 7-15 will become citizen scientists and explore the fascinating world of tree hollows.

In pursuit of Platypus! We've been eDNA sampling along the Billabong Creek in the Upper Billabong Project Target Area, looking for the presence of Platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus) in the system.

Refreshing Rivers has recently completed works focussing on the critically endangered Tumut Grevillea (Grevillea wilkinsonii). This Grevillea is one of the regions rarest plants with just over 1,000 individuals surviving along a 6km section of the Goobarragandra River in eastern Riverina.

Holbrook Landcare and helpful volunteers have been busy putting up new nest boxes for Gliders at the Ian Geddes Reserve, Holbrook. Read more about the works undertaken, and how you too can build your very own wildlife nest box.

Join Riverina Local Land Services and Landcare for a hands-on workshop and explore the intriguing world of tree hollows and their importance to wildlife.

In this hands-on workshop, aimed at the mature age group, you will learn how to record nature observations and contribute to an international biodiversity data base. Each participant will also receive free plants and resources to improve nature in their own back yard.

On March 27th, 2025, Boys to the Bush teamed up with Murrumbidgee Landcare’s Jessie McPherson and YACTAC’s Andrea Mitchell for a fun and hands-on citizen science event at the top of Yanco Creek, near Euroley.

In early April, the Billabong Creek at Conargo came alive with community-led restoration efforts as part of the Refreshing Rivers program. YACTAC, Jeithi Jerilderie Aboriginal Group and Yarkuwa, joined by local groups and schools, released over 1,000 native eel-tailed catfish

Through the efforts of YACTAC, Yarkuwa, the Refreshing Rivers program, and Kolety-Werkul Rangers, native plants are now taking root in and around the waterway, blending cultural knowledge, local collaboration, and environmental care to create a healthier, more vibrant creek for future generations

Dive into the fascinating world of freshwater mussels with Dr Nicole McCasker, mussel expert, from Charles Sturt University, and local cultural knowledge holder Ros Lockhart. This is a family-friendly event, so come along and help us discover more about these incredible creatures.

Creating a welcoming environment the "Women's Yarning Circle" event is for women of the Central Billabong to gather, collaborate, be creative, share stories (cultural, Indigenous and other), and lunch on the banks of the Billabong Creek near Jerilderie.

Murray Cod would have once been common in local waterways including Adelong Creek. Declining water quality, introduction of exotic fish species and loss of native habitat, meant that these fish had not been recorded in the Creek for many years - until now!

The Adjungbilly Creek in the Upper Riverina Highlands is home to one of 4 remaining populations of the endangered Macquarie Perch in NSW. With the help from traditional owners, we trialled a spotlighting as a method of monitoring Maccas.

Looking for a ways to educate and entertain the kids these school holidays?

2 school holiday events were recently held on Morleys Creek and Nimbo Creek as part of a Kids Fishcare event.
