
In the upper reaches of the Mountain Creek, a refuge pool project is helping provide habitat for the endangered Southern Pygmy Perch. For farmer John Keogh, the project has helped revitalise a creek that he remembers from his childhood, but that had gradually declined over thirty years of drought and flood.

Through the Refreshing Rivers Program, we are looking for landholders with farm dams, gravel pits or wetlands, who are interested in establishing refuge "arks" for this rare species of fish.
